It is no secret that the execution of Lean is 20% technical and 80%
social. At present, many companies have a firm understanding of the
technical side, but fall short of their development goals because they
can’t make the essential changes on the social side.
As a result, gains are short term and aren’t constant and the program
loses thrust and eventually support. While most of today’s managers
understand the principles of 5S and can make the connection between
execution and a cleaner, better structured work place, few understand
the fabulous potential the 5S implementation process has to truly
empower the people, resulting in a culture of constant improvement
that will make sure sustainable results. Note: the activities may vary
from day to day other than what is described within the syllabus.
Although theoretically simple, execution of the 5Ss often becomes a real
challenge as you work to:
-
Start an energetic team environment with
the attachment of all employees’ involvement.

decision making and continually expand them as you develop team member
